Quotes about dads...

"My father didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it."

~ Clarence Budington Kelland~

In the early stages of life there is a strong father/son bond.  The son wants to be like his dad.  His dad is the strongest person to him.  "My dad can beat up your dad!"....
A father helps the son separate from the mother in a healthy way so as not to become too dependant.  Sons are also learning how to treat women by the way his father treats his mother.  If a father is too passive, overly strict, or absent it causes trouble in his relationship with mom.
The primary focus of the child transfers to the opposite~sexed parent during puberty.  Daughter learns by how father treats mother.  She learns her value and feels pretty based upon how her father shows her attention.  This relationship must stay completely non~sexual.  What a father gives or doesn't give his daughter affects what she expects from men later in life.  Done correctly he provides her with security, guidance, and stability.
